Meet Bonny Cumming, one of our loyal monthly donors.
By 2030, I dream for a world:
-where everyone has fair and equitable access to abundant, healthy food;
-where gender privilege is an archaic notion and women and men benefit from unprejudiced rights and representation;
-where raising children and supporting a household is recognised as at least as important as paid employment
-where children have the opportunity to play, learn and grow without the pressures that poverty brings;
-where empathy, compassion and equity are the tenets of our societies; and,
-where the empowering work of KYEEMA and other organisations working toward the Sustainable Development Goals will have been so successful that they will have done themselves out of a job!
Bonny is a veterinarian and works for both AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities) and The University of Melbourne on various One Health and veterinary projects. Her diverse roles within the veterinary sector and not-for-profits have developed her interest in population health, community development, wildlife management and conservation, bio-security, infectious disease and zoonoses, food production and animal welfare. For Bonny, supporting the work of KYEEMA is a means of having direct, grass-roots impact in communities that are afforded fewer privileges than her own.
Kyeema Foundation’s work supporting village poultry aligns closely with several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the year 2030. We support vulnerable communities to have greater access to long term poverty solutions, to have nutritious protein to feed their children, and to empower women.

We couldn’t do this work without the support of our monthly donors. That’s why, we want to feature them over the coming months. Calling young and old! We want to know what you care about and what are your dreams for a better world by 2030.
In doing so, we are calling for more donors to support our work!
Just $10 a month delivers training for a household in village chicken keeping practices including Newcastle disease control.
$30 a month buys a household chicken starter kit: 1 rooster, 3 hens, 1 years’ vaccination against Newcastle disease.
$100 trains and equips a community vaccinator to vaccinate village chickens, a sustainable business that benefits the entire community.
We humbly ask you consider this option, as part of making the dream for a better, fairer world come true.
Please email lanab@kyeemafoundation.org if you would like to join us in dreaming up, and creating, a healthier world for all.
