Participatory Epidemiology
Participatory epidemiology (PE) is an emerging branch of veterinary epidemiology which is based on the principles and methods of Participatory Rural Appraisal.
It is “the systematic use of participatory approaches and methods to improve understanding of diseases and options for animal disease control” (Catley et al. 2012). PE is used to improve the involvement of animal keepers in the analysis of disease problems, and the design, implementation and evaluation of disease control programs and policies.
